Maasai Mara National Reserve
Experience the Great Migration and witness the Big Five in Africa's most famous wildlife reserve.
Overview
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is Kenya's most celebrated game reserve and one of Africa's greatest wildlife destinations. Located in southwestern Kenya, the Mara forms the northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. The reserve is named after the Maasai people and the Mara River that divides it. The landscape consists of rolling grasslands, riverine forests, and acacia-dotted plains. The Mara is world-famous for the annual Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing, creating one of nature's most spectacular events.
